The Author

I am a lighting and video artist first and foremost.

The computer programming is to overcome the lack of appropriate tools to use in my art.

At first I threw myself into the adventure of the interface LPTDMX by Benoit Bouchez, published in the journal Elektor.

I worked in the Arab world with independent companies.

I went for training with an independent company in Upper Egypt in 2003. The price of the console to manually control (a mere 18 channels) accounted for half of the capital lighting budget of the park.

And then I provided training in Amman, where it was more than difficult to obtain a French AVAB and a miracle to locate a Pronto HS.

All this builds character and makes the man … It's Like this, I threw myself into the adventure of the code: to be autonomous in lighting control via a laptop. I had the chance to meet a few people who have accompanied me on my way learning code, with lots of patience.

I include Thierry Arnaud and Pierre Leroy, whom I thank here.

It was born like that: learning on the job and developing a free tool for independent companies in countries where there is not a lot of money, not many theaters, but the needs of artists and …

There was thus:

FREE LAB-DMX in 2004-2005 remained highly confidential

Schwartzpeter-written from 2005 to 2009, which really came out in 2007. Schwartzpeter is my contribution to the free world. The user community has contributed much to its development and I thank them for this.

It takes time to develop expertise and a look. White Cat came about in this way, through exchanges and meetings.

As to learning code, my familiarization with the software manufacture, gave me a clearer, more masterful idea of what to expect from a software program dedicated to stage lighting.

White Cat will be sold at an ethical price when released commercially.
